OLYMPICS UPDATE

The bid process for the 2034 Olympic Winter Games is approaching the final stages, with Utah expected to be officially selected later this year, most likely sometime in July. There has been talk that Utah could potentially become part of a regular rotation of Winter Games locations. In the meantime, local officials from Park City and Summit County are beginning to discuss how the 2034 Games will transform our local communities.

See KPCW's recent story on how local leaders are starting to think big about the 2034 Olympics.

NHL-SIZED HOCKEY ARENA
COMING TO TOWN

Black Rock Mountain Resort

A major new hockey arena is under construction on Highway 248 near Hideout, on track for completion late this year. The 2,078-seat arena will be the future home of the Utah Outliers,  an elite U-20 junior hockey team. The arena will be big enough to meet NHL standards, and it will also be adaptable for hosting music concerts, comedy shows, and perhaps some Sundance events.

Located only a few miles from Park City, this arena will be a welcome addition to our local sports and entertainment venues!

SUNDANCE 2025 DATES

It is never too early to start planning for Park City's biggest yearly event, so it was welcome news when the Sundance Institute recently announced the dates for the 2025 Sundance Film Festival. Next year's festival will take place from January 23 to February 2. Hope to see you there!
